The Ellis Company, LLC
The Ellis Company, LLC, formerly known as Z. Ellis Roofing Company, Inc. and later as The Ellis Company, Inc., was founded in July 1974 by its managing member Zachary L. Ellis. Since its inception 36 years ago, the company has grown from four employees to 90 permanent employees, just prior to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Serving both southern Louisiana and Mississippi with well-trained and experienced technicians, we are fully insured, licensed and bonded.
The Ellis Company, LLC holds a state license as a general contractor specializing in roofing, sheet metal, waterproofing and stone restoration. We have been an active member of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) since 1977. Our staff includes an in-house safety director who routinely conducts safety meetings on our premises as well as on the job site. We are committed to safety in the workplace and on our job sites.
With a wide range of commercial and industrial facilities (e.g. schools, hospitals, hotels, manufacturing plants, condominiums and office complexes), our installation services encompasses all types of roofing systems, including BUR, single ply, modified, rubber and standing seam. Our sheet metal shop both fabricates and installs all types of metal systems, gutters and downpipes, i.e. copper, painted metal, aluminum, stainless steel, etc. We are also able to fabricate custom designs with our in-house technicians.
The Ellis Company is certified with the top leading manufacturers to install “bonded roofs,” specializing in certified commercial re-roofing by factory trained personnel, maintenance contracts and repairs on existing roofing systems.

Zachary L. Ellis
Zachary L. Ellis is the founder and manager of The Ellis Company, LLC and holds the company’s state licenses for both Louisiana and Mississippi. With more than 50 successful years’ experience, he specializes in roofing, sheet metal and waterproofing. Mr. Ellis is certified with many leading manufacturers to install "bonded roofs," specializing in certified commercial re-roofing by factory-trained personnel, maintenance contracts and repairs on existing roofing systems.
Mr. Ellis’ roofing project experience includes high-rise hotels, large scale commercial office complexes, multi-building residential facilities, and high-rise condominiums as well as numerous design-build projects. He has worked with both private and public sector clients such as developers, commercial end-users, state and local institutions, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other federal clients. Mr. Ellis is active in the roofing industry, having served in key positions for prominent organizations like The Louisiana Mineral Board, the National Roofing Contractor’s Association and the National Legal Resource Center.
